Joigny, heart of Burgundy

Born around a first castle in the 10th century, overlooking the river Yonne, Joigny offers the doors of Burgundy. Owning one of the most important set of half timbered sculpted houses in Burgundy, the “Cité maillotine” encloses several half timbered sculpted houses dating back to the 16th century. Discover the town where Camille Delpy and Marcel Aymé were born, the remains of its surrounding walls, its Renaissance castle, its wine producing and military past, through various events and guided visits.
